Smiling eyes disguise
the sighs of pain
that rain upon a
soul so weak
they cannot speak
emotions weep
into a heart
that once burnt bright
now every night
when out of sight
those smiling eyes
break down and cry
till tear ducts dry
no more to weep
they welcome sleep
